Description

A layman would think, that an Alien had finally landed in my garden, looking to use my phone ... right? - wrong! I had really scared myself, by moving the big banana-leaf out of the way, when I let a big YELP out and 'who's hand is that' ??? Honestly friends, I was only trying to capture a cute little bird with my trusty ol' Fuji - and this was a surprising and accidental result. I can't tell you, the fun you can have in my garden ;) Cheers Brigitte (aka blondeblurr)

It looks like the hand of a skeleton, how creepy, Brigitte. This banana-leaf really is a great capture, not only because of the light behind it, but I also see beautiful textures on it. How I would love to see your big, big garden, must be such a happy and exciting place. Take care, dear Brigitchen :)

My first thought was tarantula but looking closer I can only guess a lizard of some kind. Either way it's a great shot! Fantastic greens. I hope it does turn out to be ET. :)

When I saw your title, I thought perhaps Sig had stopped by! LOL! There's a scene in Young Frankenstein where Marty Feldman does the same thing ... reaches around with his hand and then scares himself when he sees ... a hand!! :) This is a great shot, both for the story and the wonderful light and textures on the leaf.

This would have made me run a mile as it looks like a giant spider lurking on the other side of that leaf and there is no way I would be investigating it, bird or no bird. I have a very creepy feeling just seeing this and I will probably look around the back of my screen to make sure it has gone. Great spotting.

The scariest hand puppet ever BB...YIKES ! Now that you are over your fright, gotta say the green hues look awesome as does the wild shadow with slight Morie pattern happening on the leaf ! Kool stuff & ~Cheers~

Looks like Nosferatu´s hand! Great shot! I could imagine your garden. You live on a hill, so it must be quite large, and you live in Australia, so you must have a large collection of incredibles and beautiful creatures living on it, not to mention the plants.

Betcha you'd have been even more startled if there was some huge Aussie spider-lobster-shrimp thing waving feelers at you! I have no idea what made me say that, but there you have it! (actually, the shadow does look like furry tarantula legs)

Also, my first thought was E.T.. Then leaf rot or a giant tarantula ..... you living dangerously!! I like pictures that tickle the imagination. Cheers Juli

The shadow and light play are fantastic here.... it really would creep me out too, if I were to see such an image myself as I was busy rummaging through my own garden. I wonder and wish I could see what a wonderful world you have created of your garden, as I am sure you have. Lovely greens and lighting in your composition!
