Description
Captured 8/14/08, early in the AM, somewhere out in the hinterlands of the neighborhood.
Cool detail in the ZOOM mode.
Yes, I need help on identifying this particular part of what I believe is some kind of pine tree. But I'm stumped as to the particular nomenclature of this growth....not a fern; leaves, possibly? But that would be rather bizarre. Not that I'm a flora expert, but my mind has completely abandoned me in this instance, which, at my age, should come as no surprise.
Positive identification would be most appreciated.
Toodles, thankx for coming by, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

I'm not sure either, sorry, but it has wonderful new growth doesn't it. Excellent captures and I hope someone can identify it for you.

Needles; Norfolk Island Pine sounds about right to me, but without seeing the whole tree I couldn't be sure. And what a beauty it is, it looks very healthy! Good luck with your ID...

Okay, don't know the name of the tree itself, but on closer inspection of the fotos, it's needles indeed.

Looks like a Pine to me, similar to UK ones.. Those paler shades should if I am right, eventually, turn into cones.. Now I'll be wrong! lol Good shots.. Rob
