I am a graphic artist involved in the creation of 3D and 2D artwork.
I am based in the United Kingdom, in the County of Oxfordshire.
My website has more info, images and Tutorials:
http://mysite.freeserve.com/bigraphics/index.htmlBIOThe images I create span a spectrum of genres, from Science Fiction and Fantasy, to more down to earth imagery, such as landscapes and buildings. I also create 2D illustrations and photo style montages.I am able to supply these images for a variety of media including print and the Web.
I have been involved in conventional art since childhood, but upon discovering the Amiga and Deluxe Paint many years ago, I realised the computer provided another medium to create artwork. I soon started to use Photoshop version 2 when this became available on the PC, and since then I have used the computer for my art, progressing through all the versions of Photoshop and Illustrator, and the 3D software Cinema 4D XL 7 and World Builder 3. I still use my conventional art skills, as the majority of my work starts out as a hand drawn pencil sketch that is used for reference or scanned into the computer for use as a template, and traditional drawing skills can then be applied through the use of a Wacom A4 drawing tablet and Photoshop.

This is really good and funny! nice flowers, realistic path-texture and a beautiful background. I think, you spend much time for it!? How strong the World Builder could be in blessed hands! BORIS

Nice fresh scene Gareth, i like those imported models, how did you get them so nice looking? I have always trouble with imported models, the textures don't look as good as in Max, and you have to modify the phong photometry of every part of the model, so i prefer using the Max plugin. Maybe the road would be nice to try with reverse bumping (it seems hollow now). The trees in the background look great. BTW why don't you submit your site on renderosity, that way more people will learn of your tutorial on using opacity maps with WB.

Thanks for comments. Alfons, the models are imported, and yes, I had to modify every part of them, including photometry, but it was the only way to get them looking good. The texture maps used are very high res, this is the only way I can get decent renders. After working on this image, I have decided in future to model the landscape in WB, Models in my 3D package, and then put the whole scene together in Photoshop. It will be quicker.
