What a day....in light of the P.M's visit I had the armaments removed from the U-Boat, just in case!.Then found I needn't have bothered, when Joyce Brownslipper from the local AmDram Society phoned. It seems they have some Kriegsmarine uniforms left over from last years musical production of 'Das Boot' and she wondered if we'd like them, otherwise she'd just take them to the local Oxfam shop.Well 'Tailspin' enjoys dressing up and was off like a shot to collect them, which kept him out of the way for the duration of the visit.Everything went quite smoothly after that.
As you'll see, things are progressing and I'm hoping for a weekend launch, tides permiting.
Not long after I released my F-86 Sabre, I was contacted by a gentleman who wondered if I'd mind him using it to develope a free on-line game.I've followed his progress and there is now a flyable demo here....

it's great fun, if you do check it out and try it, PLEASE take time to go back and comment on his work, he's put a lot of work into it, with a lot more to come.
Right, I'm back off to the dry dock to re-install the guns,'Tailspin's back....dressed as Lilly Marlene? that basque does nothing for him! I may knock off early tonight and go visit Jack Daniels... I'll keep you posted...

Awesome work! Really a great scene!Waiting for the next step! Went to the website. Very nice work! Love what he did with your F86. Great job and very nice sequence. Waiting to play with it Keep going, what you do is fantastic!

Oh, my! I'm really impressed with your crane! I assume you've designed and built it at the Plant. So much work removing the armaments for one silly bloke, and he wasn't even there (a very good thing, indeed!). Sounds like Tailspin is as vain as Hermann Goering - loves to dress up! I'm looking foreward to the launch. I do hope the PM decided to fund the Plant for its efforts to protect the UK from marauding foes, even if it means constructing vintage German snub-marines (well, they snubbed the Royal Navy, didn't they? Until finally forced to join it by means of surrender!). Now I'm off to an air show starring a certain F-86 Sabre jet. I'll let you know how it goes (and IF I survive it. One never knows if there's another Tailspin lurking in the background!). Keep up the good work! :-)

You have a drydock in your basement!!!? Damn! Obviously you've put it to good use. She looks fantastic. Looking forward to the launch. (Maybe Tailspin is dressed like Lilly Marlene cause he want to swing the old champagne bottle at the launch? I really didn't want to suggest that he was out to launch and that was the next best explanation.)Great presentation.

Outstanding work mate.

Tailspin's cirtainly trying to express his slightly kinky side. So where do we get tickets for the Musical :) Checked out the video on the web page and you two could really have something going here. Bookmarked the site and will be keeping an eye on it. It's looking very good so far. Excellent dry dock setting!

Very cool Neil. Please understand I've just been all over my U-Boat, Type IXC. When you add the armaments back to your Type VII, throw in a set of forward torpedo doors/tubes too:)...I know you will...just wanted you to know I've been examining/appreciating your WIP closely. I did watch the demo employing your F-86. I marvel at all the work that has to lie behind the simple takeoff...circle...and land again flight. The moving control features and retractable gear really adds a lot! Bet you feel a bit like a proud papa:)

Now you've done it! I'll have that song in my head all night long. The sub looks great and great job on the drydock and crane.

Looks fabulous. I'm still on the look out models of the big later-model U-Boats that participated in the "Monsun Gruppe" including not-so-secret (due to Ultra etc) delivery runs with technology etc to Japan. The exchange went both ways. As you probably know some of Japan's big I-boats also ventured into the Atlantic and the Bay of Biscay- never a good place to be a submariner. I'm currently fiddling with the beginnings of an model of one, the I-19, to launch my "Glen."

I guess you would need a little "Jack" to make Tailspin and the basque more appealing! Be careful of those "Goggles" though mate and how the next morning turns out ;)
