The old hold that pose for 10 minute's. Amazing to be able to see some of the past event's rather than just read about them

The word smile had not been invented yet;-) And think of all the hours spent by these folks just to get ready for this family photo! Well done.

It is so much fun to look back in time. :))))) I wonder how long it took the ladies to do their hair. I bet their hair was so long too. :))))))) The man to the rite does look like Lincoln. Most excellent capture my friend. :))))) Thank you for sharing. :))))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :))))))

Lovely old family picture Brandy. It looks as if you have wiped it down with something which sometimes can seriously damage the original so what I would do is to copy the picture before you do anything and perhaps work on that in photshop!

This is wonderful! BTW, we don't Remove the photos, we move them to the ShareShot gallery if they are not tagged as restorations, only because the rules for the Photo gallery say you must take the photo yourself and a photo of a photo is considered the same as scanning. Putting in a restoration genre allowed those of us who enjoy photo editing and restoring antique photos to post with our fellow photographers.

'I am always a target time for me to get out i guess.'.......don't let them get you down matey! And please don't go ANYWHERE!!!!!!! A young child at school asked me why no one in all these old photos was happy or laughing! I had to explain to her that it wasn't that they were glum, but that the shutter speeds those days were sooooo slow. The people had to stay perfectly still for a long time so that the photos wouldn't blur, and holding a laughing expression is much harder than simply being natural! These people would never have imagined that someone in the future would take the time to restore their photo, let alone be able to shoot it all around the world in a heartbeat on a thing called the internet!!

Beautiful restored photo! Blinkings is right. Hold a smile for ten minutes is impossible... and who wants to smile if you have to be immobile for so long, without even blinking?. Moreover, very restless people sometimes were forced to rest against a metal bracket to prevent them to move. They couldn't be happy.

Judging by the clothes and hair, this is probably around 1900. That is the time of the Gibson Girl. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibson_Girl I love these old photos! Lovely capture. Thanks for sharing!

Great looking family shot and I am glad that you posted them. I don't understand why they come down on you about these wonderful old photos. I have some old photos of my parents and grandparents that I was thinking of restoring and posting. There is a member that posts photos straight out of playboy - outright plagiarism but nobody seems to care. Keep up the good work Brandy.

Guessing by the hair do's this is around the 1890's to 1910. Copyrights only last 70 years, and I would guess this is out of that scope. :c) Hope you stay around.
