This has faded a lot. Let's hope the memories of the people have not fared the same

Isn't it something how we ladies now wear shorts and short sleeves and back then that didn't happen. :)) Most excellent capture from the past my friend. :)))))) Thank you for sharing. :)))))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :)))))

I see the old photos like this of man and wife and just have the hardest time imagining them on their wedding night...or any other night for that matter. Its amazing to me to think that couples back then had so many kids - don't they look like it would be a chore equal to cleaning out the outhouse? I adore this. Look how far we have come - not just our cameras, but in what is acceptable when we pose for portraits.

They can't even hold hands in public!! Thank God times have changed. My grandmother (British ancestry) taught me to greet my father and my brothers with a handshake, and talk with the treatment of "Usted" instead of the familiar "tú" (I do not know how to translate this because in english both words mean "You" In german would be "Sie" and "Du"), and kissing was not allowed. But now I kiss my son and my wife in public and I would suffer if I could not do it. Beautiful and valuable for posterity work!!

Beautiful restoration. He looks like General Ulysses S Grant before he became president of the USA.

I trace our genealogy and have some marvelous photos of our past family members. Each one is fascinating just to look at, and imagine what they were like. Then an interesting story comes along that was passed down about one of them, and their lives were far more in depth than just a photo can do justice to.
