Description

The fun aspect of primitive hiking is seeing the parks non-commercialized side. The beauty of primitive hiking in Bryce, is its sparse vegetation and broad washes make navigating easy. This image is from such a wash. By far it is no beauty shot but wanted to point out a couple things. First note the formation atop the high ground and it's many windows. Secondly you can kind of see an overhang start to form into the bottom left of the image. The second point coming right up! The first point will take a few posts to come back too. To the kind souls that leave their mark whether a comment, rating, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you!!! Thank you all that viewed the last image below. thumb_2279989.jpg

I think that's the best part of national parks, going off the main areas to see what isn't advertised. Maligne Canyon in Jasper National Park in Alberta here is a great example. Once you get to the bottom of the tourist hike, you can keep going (after a bit of a scramble) and see some really cool cliff formations.

I LOVE your geography lessons, Dana! Your stunning pics are so much better than the Mono aerial obliques we had for 'A' level. and we thought they were great at the time!
