2nd image of the day, scanned from a 4X6 Matte finish photo. The soils around Bryce Canyon allow water to easily percolate through. The overhangs along the drainage's and washes allow large pillars of ice to form. This opening is just under 3 meters in height, and yes that moss is alive.
