Description
Think he's got a powerful enough lens?
Captured 10/18/09, at the beautiful Orchid Show held at the beautiful Huntington Botanical Center and Conservatory in beautiful San Marino, California.
Taken indoors without a flash. A ZOOM would be cool.
Many of you have already been in similar positions, snapping macros of various and sundry objects. As for me, when I drop down like that, it's agonizing hell to get up again.
And I really invaded this guy's privacy in not asking permission to record his presence. Not the first time nor the last.
Farvel, thankx for the look-see, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

wow that lens weight a lot too. I be in bad shape too if i got down like that. I may even have to have a wagon to put the lens in to carry it around

Superb! And you know what? He could care less that you are taking his picture. Just like everyone else unless they are escaped fellons on the run;-) Well done. And I always like to see what serious photographers are using...

I'm with you Harry. It is easy to get down in that position and a bi*ch to get back up. It is a public place so I think that you are Ok with the posting.

not an easy shot, Harry, and you got not only the posture of a dedicated flower photographer, but quite a cornucopia of colors & textures & other stuff colliding together in one shot! It's really exciting to me. The greens & yellows & the angles of garden, contrasted with the table on the right, the crossing of the chain, what looks like a wheelchair...a riot of visual counterpoint. I loved this shot when it went up, still do now. As for the capture of a photographer-at-work, he doesn't seem to care one bit that you're there (as bill says): He's all focussed on the orchid. (Either that, or on trying to hold up that lens.) I have yet to get the guts to take these shots, I haven't gotten over my shyness when photographing people. You on the other hand just move in & shoot. Visually he provides a wonderful motion, drawing all the other elements together with his angled posture. It's a wonderful shot, exposing not only the concentration of a serious photographer, but the huge equipment some of them have. (That's a freakin' lens. And that sun-guard is bigger than my whole camera...) Love the shot & all the visual motion; and it's another in your wonderful series of photographers at work.
