Description

KINGDOM COME This render sprang from a long going WIP which originally began as an attempt to dial spin a morph likeness of Alex Ross' interpretation of Superman. In the process, M4 was transformed into the Man of Steel using Yannek's M4 Elite Texture: Sol @ DAZ3D, CBowman's veinous displacement map, and Neftis3D's CQ Event Hairstyle with Maskim Xul's CQ Event Textures. Both skin and hair textures were enhanced with bagginsbill's VSSProp and VSS Hair Prop; the skin VSSProp incorporating Subsurface Skin Scatter found in P9/PP2012. The core costume comes from Uzilite Superman M4 with my own shader modifications. For the insignia, I decided to go with the Kingdom Come emblem, first seen in Alex Ross' Kingdom Come series under DC's Elseworld Books. The scene simply is composed of BB's Envsphere skydome with a free sky texture map created by glaseye (Sharecg.com). One infinite, white light @ 70% intensity and one specular light @ 10% intensity. Rendered in PoserPro 2012 with IDL & SSS. Minimal postwork in Photoshop. Original character by DC Comics (Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster)

Wonderful work, hborre. It was fascinating to read the process and evolution that went into creating this outstanding render. You've always been a tremendous help to me in the forums and it was a privilege to view your work tonight. Best wishes!

Thanks so much for your detailed description of what went into this, HBorre. The image is quite striking, very much in the spirit of the comix even more than any of the movie(s?).

You outdid yourself with this one. I love your Superman images in your gallery. This one is exceptional. Everything about it is perfect--lighting, outfit is amazing. The expression is awesome! I believe it is the best I have ever seen.
