My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Superb shot. From thumbnail I thought it was a bunched-up carpet. I really like the simplicity of this shot - very creative.

Great folds of soft material...there is a very comfortable feeling to this... An abstract is difficult to describe...these Painted Hills allow you to immerse yourself in a physical abstraction. So very memorable:)

I am going back there in the spring for a second visit. This area is a photographer's paradise. A great photo, Tara.

I saw this and immediately thought of rolling sand dunes...which, of course, took me directly to thoughts of Dune, and I wondered (for just a moment) if there were Fremen in stillsuits wandering around with thumpers so that they could hitch a ride on the back of an enormous (and surly) sandworm. And then it hit me: you said this was Oregon, and so all visions of Arrakis were replaced by visions of Oregon, complete with interesting geology. The whole Pacific Northwest is an area that I must visit. It's a moral imperative, and this is yet another photograph drawing me in that direction. As always, this is such brilliant work.

It almost looks like a soft, fuzzy blanket - nice and warm to wrap up in this time of year... This is so amazing! A wonderful 'realist-abstract' (LOL) you've captured here, Tara!
