My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Nice shadow and info on this bridge, love old bridges and their shadows are nice too :-)..

Magical! I'm of the mind that shadows, like reflections, belong to another world and that in some--strange--way, we are the shadow world: an un-detailed representation of the real thing, looming between it and the surface upon which we are cast. Okay, only a part of me thinks that way, and I suspect that's the part of me that has found the way to Agara, where things are...well...as they are in Agara. And now that I've gone off on that particular tangent, I'll come back to this reality and say that this is a brilliant and nicely moody shot. There are so many times in life when the shadow of a thing is as rich in evocative detail as the thing itself--if that wasn't the case, we wouldn't have an interest in art, after all. This is brilliant and--most definitely--one of my favorites!

super idea

Great shadow I can see why you like it.

Interesting shot! I also find it interesting that so many wires are spanning that distance without any sort of spacing devices to keep them apart from each other in the wind.

Sharp, bright contrast...always jumps right out at me and grabs my attention. This bridge reminds me of an old erector set I had as a boy. Well done...having been in place for 100 years, it looks like it will be here for many more years to come.

A wonderful bridge shot, Tara, and what a spectacular shadow! This is great! And I see something else, too....... I see 2-arm telephone poles, probably loaded with insulators! Woo-Hoo!!! (You didn't think I'd miss that did you?? LOL!!)
hipps13
I like it too as many thoughts flow warm hugs, Linda Kaye

Well seen, as I would expect from you; and those teeny tiny telephone/power poles way back there give an idea of the hugeness of this bridge. Wonder where the shadow bridge takes you?

Wow! I'm kind of struck speechless (a rare occurrence), I just want to keep saying WOW! This is...WOW! First of all (wow), the sheer size of the thing is pretty stunning (wow), and then there's the amazing height (wow)that is making my vertigo give me belly flops just sitting at my computer (wow), and we haven't even gotten to the amazingly fantastic shadow which IS pretty amazingly fantastic! What a great shot. WOW!!!
pixeltek
Excellent! Sometimes the shadows are the most important part of a picture.
