Description

Q: What is small, red and whispers? A: A hoarse radish! OK - so, that was a bit lame - but this radish was splitting himself laughing and then he thought he try his luck, inviting this young lady (on his left) to take a walk on the wild side ... *** Sometimes radishes simply split open as they mature and get older or a case of uneven watering - my fault, we didn't have enough rain in Spring but they still tasted yummy on buttered bread ... BTW radish is also recognized as daikon in Asia. Cheers Brigitte (aka blondeblurr)

Oh, so funny, Brigitte, and they have legs, though a little curved toes. Beautiful shiny radishes, mmmm I send a big smile back to them, and also one for you, dear Sis!

Oooh, oooh, I love radishes, especially when they're fresh, tingley and tangy! Superb postwork in this capture of the veggie delicacy, BB! They are so large I thought they were tomatoes at first glance.

Yum!! My mouth watered upon seeing them. I love to munch on 'em. Your radishes are beauties. You have a great looking garden. Wonderful shot with the lighting and the wood.

So you grow your own? Nice crop. I laughed too but I didn't split anything that I know of. I've been putting them in my salads lately. They add a tasty bit of diversity.

A few months ago, during our Northern summer, I made coleslaw and diced some radishes really fine to put in the dressing. Oh man, was that tasty! Your photograph makes me long for better weather and fresh veggies!

this is dynamite, full size. Anyone who didn't zoom is missing a lot! Great texture on the radishes, and the reds? Pow, bang, zoom reds...really saturated rich reds. And your composition is spot on, with the greens above, and the table below, and all that light on the table---looks like spilled cream, but I think it's light. Maybe you manipulated, I don't know; but whatever you did, it's a great accent to the lines on the table (along with those eye-blinding reds). Plus---the radish du jour: the big laughing one. That guy's thinking no-good thoughts! A riot. Love your funny description too. I love this shot, another 'brigitte' shot---I know you're probably getting sick of hearing that from me, but you have a way, a way of picking things out and bringing them to us with a bold, big whoosh, that's all you. Not that you don't do other things---I'm definitely not saying that---just that this is one of your sides, artistically, and it's so bold and full and daring. Terrific piece.
