Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Aw... my mother's favorite place, too. And I really enjoyed being there, too. Always something interesting to look at (and I'm a man). Long, very narrow floors with VERY high ceilings, walls filled with shelves right to the ceilings; long, narrow tables with all kinds of cloth and other stuff; drawers full of mystery. Aisles (?) so narrow you can scarcely pass another person. An air of quaintness found nowhere else. And a certain odor not found elsewhwere. And good taste in music, too. Yes, I, too, miss Britex. Thanks for the memories! Keep up the good work! :-)

Stellar POV, clarity, contrasts, detail, definition, lighting, angles, repetition, rectangular forms, et al, Missy Marilyn.

You caught this in the perfect light. Love seeing how other people see San Francisco.

Sounds like a fantastic spot; I never knew about it, probably a good thing for my wallet...I have NO self-control.

OK, so now Britex is on our bucket list:-) I can do a floor...then it'd be off to Macy's for me too. lol. This is a very interesting sign...combination of incandescent light bulbs (the B and the F) and the rest neon. Well done.

I've never been very good at sewing, although I used to successfully sew the buttons back onto my shirts. These days I can't even SEE the holes in the buttons (even with bifocals), so even that's out. I can understand being in love with something, though. Get me in a book/music/video store and several weeks could go by before I'd make it to the check out counter. It's a beautiful building, though, and I love the sign. Hmmmmmmmmm, I've always wanted to walk over the Golden Gate Bridge myself, perhaps something could be arranged some day to where all the ninjas would walk together getting as many photos as possible? Hmmmmmmmm. Great shot BTW.

I'm getting into this whole fabric thing as I've just discovered how wonderful fabrics can really enhance onion husks. Hmmm...this is already going off on a weird tangent and I've only just started this comment. How typical of me. Okay, so back to this photo. WOW! WOW! This really rocks. You've nailed this so perfectly and the light is absolutely fantastic. I mean. Look at it! This has all sorts of nice, visual excitement going on in it. I love the architectural details and that bold, classic sign. Yeah...this ranks up there with the Reza's sign, or the Chicago Theater sign...remnants of a bygone era, and this is a beauty. And just look at those architectural detail thingies! WOW! Now, about onion skins and fabric... ...oh, never mind! This is a super shot!

I love old signs and this is a beauty.
