Description

I'm afraid I shall have to be quick tonight as I am busy wrapping and trying to stay ahead of other demands on my time. My cat wants her tuna and her litter box cleaned and her rubbing and her bowl of fresh water and... It's like they've taken over, I knew something like this would happen when all the pet monkeys died. I took this photo about two weeks ago while Christmas shopping in downtown Toronto. This is the the main hall of what is now called the Toronto Eaton Centre. The retail chain which spawned the mall no longer exists. Like so many, bankruptcy in the 90's and then bought out by Sears. The mall is still a pretty popular place though even without an Eatons store or even a Simpsons which used to occupy the massive Simpsons Tower beside the Eaton Centre on the south side of Queen Street. I am not normaly attracted to mall Christmas displays. Most are tragicly minimal or overly gawdy - just because you can make pictures with Santa appear on the sides of Christmas trees, does not mean you should do it. But the Eaton Centre puts on an uncommon show which is quite litterally bigger than everything around it. Yet, it does not try the patience of the shopper, its grand but its still just a part of the scene. And what can I say, I love coloured lights. Be seeing you guys and thanks for stopping by. Hope your holiday shopping is going well. Better still, hope your holiday shopping is finished. Cheers!

This is actually a very tasteful display. great capture! have fun trying to get things done, especially with the cat((s) even though there may be one, it seems that there are more than one) demanding your attention at the most inoppertune time and they know how to get it....
