My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!Â

What a bummer! Sod's Law, as we say here. The most interesting one, HOW can they not know about this? I love the light.

Very graphic shot. I would have cropped the white part on the right to make it even more symmetrical but that's just me. Love the story that goes with the image too, always fascinating to learn stuff about old buildings :)

Very interesting contrast between modern (boring) and old decorated (interesting). The tiles are great, even though positioned so one can scarcely see the design. No windows on the side suggests another no longer existant building having been there. The rooms seem empty. Interesting photo of a mysterious building. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and Bill! :-)

Beautiful,

Very cool building and very odd that there is no information about it the mystery deepens

A very good photograph!

I remember that building as seen from our 14th floor window. Chicago seems to be in the midst of an ongoing refurbishing act...maybe we'll see this all fixed up a year or two from now...or gone to make way for more light & glass. Quite a bit of terra cotta on that building. Am enjoying the details that I didn't take time to examine when we were there. Well done:*

Wonderful image Tara!

What an interesting old building! And your shot is superb.

Great capture of this awesome old structure!!

I too love architecture, and looked at your link, so interesting. And what a fantastic photo and building you show us today, Tara.

Judging by the Big Brown that borders it on two sides, this building is not supposed to be there. Which is to say, someone refused to be bought out. It certainly has visual interest. A great capture. It certainly is livelier than its neighbor.
Hendesse
Very interesting architecture, both buildings. The old house seems to be uninhabited. An excellent shot with fantastic details.

Simple and beautiful.

Great building.

Whatever it is, it's cool! Really neat capture of this 'little' building looking like a dwarf among giants.
Orinoor
Fantastic and fascinating! I hope you learn more about it, perhaps Chip can dig up some details for you.
NanetteTredoux
I love how this building stands out against the modern one behind it and has so much more character.
dragonmuse
Wonderful PoV on this. Has a real modern art feel despite teh subject's age.

Nice find Tara. It looks weird to have a building almost surrounded by larger buildings. There has to be a reason for it to still be standing.
