My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Very interesting to hear this man talk about his work. Probably just as interesting to listen to Bill, which I hopefully will do some day.

Very cool capture.

Wow! How very exciting! I would love to see that at night. Must be interesting all lit up. I photographed one of his buildings at Bard College in upstate NY.

Interesting sculpture!

I like Gehry's work, thought I know a lot who don't; lots of way-cool photo ops around it, with all the wonderful angles and curves and shiny surfaces! Does Bill remember what he was looking at?

Nice shot - I think half the fun of looking at the Rendo ninja shots from Chicago is seeing how each of you has managed to capture one of your fellow ninjas in the shot.

Hmmm - it musta been all those nekkid chicks splashing around in the fountain down below. What? He didn't tell you about that?? LOL! Now, there's a techniqe well-known to all photographers - which is why most of us have tennis elbows! :-D Great capture, Tara, of the entire scene including this intrepid photographer!

Personally, I like Gehry's work, and think his futuristic band shell gives the park a bit more zing. Unfortunately, the smug mindless Midwestern attitude seems to be along the lines of "Ew, looks like a pile of tin cans exploded!" But that's the Midwest for you... Yes, I see Bill is using the time honored manual/human tripod technique here. So much easier to learn than the algebraic non-human tripod technique much favored by polar bears...(Yes, I see it's time for my pill.)Great shot BTW.

Marvelous. I am still of mixed minds about the whole exploded tin can thing, but it DOES look compelling, and as for what Bill was photographing...well, I suspect it was to the east! I really like this shot and the memories it evokes. That was a marvel of a day and now I'm craving pecan sandies and diet coke and grapes. I love the clarity of this shot and of the man and woman looking at something on a strangely pink phone, apparently with a camera function! Chicago is many things and on photographically-friendly days, it's a wonderful collection of people doing those odd sorts of people-things cities tend to foster. This is a brilliant shot!

Chicago is a photo op in every direction multiplied by the tens of thousands of places one can stand. I'll have to go back now and see what I was aiming my camera at this time:) Fine composition as always...so much to see...so much wonder.

I would be blown away by Chicago - I loose track of everything when there is'just one more thing' to photograph! Clive
