Description

From time to time I visit the "Heiligenberg" (the Holy Mountain) near Heidelberg. There are the ruins of a more than 1000 years old monastery. Thanks for looking.

Wonderful light and PoV to show off this ancient structure. Just look at how thick those walls were and yet this is what remains. I sometimes wonder if over time people "recycled" the material in these old buildings and that is why so little is left. Like Jayfar, I too think of when these structures were in use and the peoples who used them. One of my favorite things about Europe is the ancient history in architecture is all around to be appreciated.
