Brad Pitt and I share the exact same birthday (month, day, year) outside of that, our stories diverge considerably. Mr. Pitt went on to become an internationally famous superstar, while I have led the much more interesting life of the starving artist. I come from a long line of storytellers (whose gift for gab stretches back through the mists of time to our native Ireland) and professional malcontents who were seemingly born to create something in the arts, be it music, writing, sculpture, painting, or photography. I started writing at age 12 with a screenplay with my cousin Ryan about a planet where everyone looked like Elton John entitled "Don't I Know You?" More screenplays followed, several of which received epic Super-8 production with budgets that sometimes ran up to $10. A few even had sound!  More writing followed: songs, poems, short stories, numerous unfinished novels, etc.. Somewhere in there was an attempt at being a rock star...
Still living at home, at age 22, my father dropped an elderly Nikromatt 35-mm film camera into my lap, in the hopes that I would "make a go of it" as a photojournalist. That didn't happen, but I did develop an abiding love of photography that along with writing and archival work have been among the chief passions of my life. When it comes to my photography, I try to be as creative as possible while at the same time striving for a documentary/archival quality. The only set rules I adhere to, when it comes to making pictures are: 1.) Try not to make the picture blurry, and 2.) Don't drop the camera.

The lady in one pink glove is what makes this shot. Or, as members of a particular generation might say: "Oh, Mary is quite excited, isn't she?" And I have to say that this is such a classic shot. As for the physiologically-female woman, I love her tights! They're rockin'! And, I like the fact that she's not concerned with the fact that a non-breeder male is admiring...well...not her legs, but what's on them. I can definitely see that he not only appreciates her sartorial taste, but wants it! This is a classic BoysTown shot; it captures the giddiness that once ruled that neighborhood, and it's refreshing to see. And yeah, as for the physiologically-female-woman, I must say that she has a look, a personality, and a nice bit of attitude. This is brilliant.

Excellent image! I love the poses of the four individuals captured. They have a choreographed look, that is all the more interesting in that it is very much the opposite. The women are in their own worlds, not paying attention other in than in the most cursory nature, to the world around them. I like the long strides of both the women, about the only thing that connects the two together. They are sort of anti-mirror images of each other. The two men are very much noticing the world around them, especially the one on the right, and especially when it is pink. There is great motion here. The long strides of the women, and the abruptly stopped motion of the men. The man on the left's position, indicates the abrupt stop, redirection, and enthusiasm of the man on the right. Very cool capture!

Excellent shot, love the color and action you captured!

I absolutely love being able to go up to a guy on the street and ask him where he found that fabulous shoes or to have some guy walk up to me and ask what the name of my hair color is. And there are some places where you can comfortably do that and some places you can't. Wouldn't it be great if every place could be secure that way and everyone could talk to anyone with out feeling at risk? Great shot. It makes me feel so good to see this exchange.

Pink is good. You captured the moment well. I take it this is a "neighborhood thing"? That is what it seems like.

So many stories here...thanks for the glimpse and setting us up to create our own interpretation... Now, those unmentioned yellow shoe laces really catch my eye:) Great street-action-shot Corey.

What a cracker of a shot! I can just hear him! A bit sad that your Boystown is a bit beige, but maybe it has rainbow knickers.
