UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Thanks, Bill. I enjoy the northwest Indian names that crop up in this (and other) of your photos of ferries. The hot spot on the ferry below the bridge gives away that this is a filter. Apart from that, this is a cool image. I shouldn't say cool, it's cold, damp, rainy and the upper part of the country has had a 2 day hurricane with winds up to 100 mph. A LOT of people without elecricity, light, heating. Trains at a standstill or derailed. And MORE is coming! This photo is the epitome of peace. Such a contrast! Have a Happy New Year! :-)

T.Rex, Just for info, the filter did not create what you've referred to above as a 'hot spot'...that is actually bright sun reflecting off the white painted superstructure above the waterline.

I love this! It's SO difficult to get a shot of a ferry that doesn't look ... well ... like JUST a ferry! This is outstanding. Perfect filter choice! It highlights the ferry and damps down the background in just the right way. NICE!

Well done. A superb shot - in zone you can even see a few birds following the ship - probably waiting for trash dump.

Superb clarity considering the distance from your lens, Bill, and I gotta get me one of those filters. I'll look for it on Google, and if I can't find it, I'll come to you seeking help.
