UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Wouldn't it be a shock to see your own face there!!!! Great shots Bill.

Neat idea! It would be easy to postwork your face onto it. Would be neat to see Chip and Corey in there because they are the 'faces' of Chicago for me now!

Mate I reckon those light-emitting diodes would explode with fright if my ugly face ever got on there!

Wonderful! I'm not usually keen on conceptual art, but this concept is clever!

...Hundreds visits hoping to see their faces!'..... Well, seems the deperation to be a star in any form retches new ugly lows.. I hate the Ppop Idol 'thing' and this is a branch of it.. Sorry to be so negative but of a culture gone wrong, not of your excellently taken picture my friend.. Sort of thing they would erect in Stamford claining 'It fits in.....' Rob

Very different and a unique capture! I do admire the clarity with which you've captured this, and my Goodness, what a surprise it might be to see oneself one of these unknowingly... :) May you and your loved ones have a beautiful Holiday and a happy, inspirational and healthy New Year!

Shades of futuristic sci-fi movies! Terrific color and clarity in this cool capture of a technology I didn't know existed as yet, Bill.

Very cool. We do not have such imaginative things like this here. Unfortunately!

As I understand it, nobody would be up there and not know their picture had been taken. It was a city-wide art project, and people volunteered and sat for the portraits. They're perfectly lined up. When water spurts out the front, it comes from between the lips of the portrait! They're totally uniform. A fun fountain, and I always enjoy seeing it!

Oh, I love these. I don't know how they do the faces! It's something of a tourist attraction in Chicago to look for the cameras that record the faces (some people think they're hidden in The Bean!) I like the way you captured the colors here and you can make out so much of the environment. And now, you've got me wondering where those cameras are, too...maybe they're in the towers themselves? We should explore that.

That is very cool Bill! I love the photo and the concept.
