Description

my dad told me that what they used to called the Scot bag pipe players as they march in the army and the ones that fight too. They was mostly fearless and fought hard too. I read a story of one army big piper stated to play as the men was under fire of the Germans. He got up and started to walk down the road playing his bag pipe, b\dust was flying up around him as the bullits hitting around him on the road and the Americans solders that was there yelled at him to get down. He yelled back to say" do you want to live forever?" He got the men up and running towards the Germans who saw them and they broke and ran away. The bag piper lived to play another tune. It a true story. My dad say too long ago that the american Indians was afraid of these guys too as the Africa natives also. anyway that the images i get as I saw this comeing at me. My dad told me a lot about the Scots as they are my people of old. this was going on in a march at Texas Renaissance Festivalr in Texas in Oct. MrsLubner and Flannelman was there too. check out they galleries

Lovely looking image of this bag-pipe player! The sound is always so soothing, even if the tune isn't so good. Great capture Jocko!

This would be a dramatic and frightening sight coming at you in a battle, especially with the sounds of the wailing bagpipes.A real good photo.

A wonderful shot, Jock! From what I've read about WW2, the Nazis were scared to death of hearing those bagpipes - they knew well the fearlessness of the Black Watch approaching. I love bagpipe music :-D

Very interesting story and excellent capture! I like how you captured him walking towards you and looking at you, while he plays. I love hearing bagpipes in empty, lonely places. When my parents and I were at the ruins of a castle on Loch Lomond, there was a bagpiper playing. It was a cold and gray day, so he wasn't getting as many tourists, I'm sure, as he would have liked, but it was perfect for us. He was good, and his music was a powerful and magical accompaniment to the wild, ancient location.

A great story! However, I am going to run well, if I hear a bagpipe ... I really wonder how you can get a sound from it ... Super photo!
