Description

Believe it or not, they have actually changed the international dateline for SAMOA. Now they are going to be the very FIRST to welcome in the NEW YEAR and not the last anymore, followed by NEW ZEALAND and then by us, in AUSTRALIA! A little ahead of time, because we are living in your future - so, here is my take on it - 'Hello World' - here we go again and lets all stick it to the Mayans! Don't expect me to post again, if I am wrong! LOL three big cheers and hip, hip, hooray ... Brigitte (aka blondeblurr)

Actually, this a bit ominous, with the sun splitting in half and all, maybe those Mayans were right...YIKES ! Kidding aside BB, super composition, light play and postwork effects ! Here's to an ace future & a BIG ~CHEERS~ :o)

A fabulous capture of the early morning light and the trail going right through the sun looks amazing. I hope it is a good omen for the new year. Although Samoa are going to be ahead of us in time, we are still going to see the sun first. I hope you and Jeff have a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Wow. I just read up on the whole Samoa thing. Now I need a nap ... I'm exhausted! LOL! I've got the Mayan thing all figured out. They carved that big calendar, and said, "Okay, that one's done. Shall we start the next page?" Somebody said, "Nah ... screw 'em. They can carve their own. I'm done!" Really ... we buy new calendars every year. I don't think December 31st is the end of the world ... just the end of the year! Buy a new calendar, and the world will be just fine. :P Did I mention how much I like your image? Beautiful!

Gorgeous color blends in this stunning shot of the horizontal contrail crossing the fuzzy sun, Brigitte! I would like to see samoa of that type of thing. And congratulations for being third in line for the upcoming new year and for all those following it. We in California follow up near the rear of the progression.

A super catch of the sunrise and if you are reading this - then the Mayans didn't get you. Funny narrative. :o)

Beautiful picture, I love the clouds in the middle of the sun. As for the Mayans and the end of the world Auntietk could not express better. Among the many scientists who study the Mayans, no one has to consider that the Mayans stopped writing their calendar at 2012 because they ran out of stone? Or because the artist died? Or got a girlfriend and found other more interesting things to occupy time? There is only one who knows the fate of mankind, and I do not think he will tell us.So do not worry. Just live life as best we can, while we can. A happy new year to you, your family and for all Australia.

Hip, hip, hooray for BB-chen. Love this pic. Wonderful colors, it would be great on canvas on a wall. It gives such an endless view/look. Indeed 'Glorious', as Andrea wrote.

I'm currently using my image to Jacomina to go to galleries and have lined up some images to comment on. The comment after yours was by fallen21 and her latest image is titled "The End is Coming" I think this could be a sign. But then again, I'm eating pecans and I just almost ate one with the bitter inner stuff on it, but I saw it at the last moment. Whew! That was lucky! A sign of good luck! I'll go with that sign instead. Lovely image! It looks like a crack in the sky, (but I've had a sign of good luck, so I'm sure it isn't.) Beautiful soft silhouettes and hazy colors. I love the way the sunlight radiates out from the sun and softly fades. Since I haven't heard of any major voids on your side of the planet, I'm going to assume I'll be seeing more post from you. :) Happy New Year to you and yours!
