Description
To the the guys who keep those metal hunks up in the air...the "sine qua non" of the RAF or any other "mighty" air force who get little popular praise for their efforts. Without them, none of those heroes would ever have the opportunity to "take to the skies". Huzzah! Hip, hip!
Brings to mind a caste system which in turn reminds us that no matter how high one gets up in the food chain, he/she needs the services of the lowly grave digger, embalmer, or furnace operator at the end. The cycle always seems to encompass each and every one of us. Ain't it great?
I thought that I would take Neil's (neiwil) excellent and much needed period hangar (one of two)for a test drive (is that possible?). She's a beaut! (...and corners like an hormone crazed weasel. Talk about handling!) Also got around to a long put off chore...making a credible concrete apron that looks like it's been used. Tailspin can probably really appreciate the significance of the black oily "belch" as a sign of a job well done on the Tempest, but I'm only guessing here...

Wonderful work,

An aircraft hangar that "corners like an hormone crazed weasel."...I'm a genius :-) Although a definite link exists between 'Tailspin' and a belch, the black oily belch of a job well done I'm not so sure of.'Tailspins' expertise with engines rests with how fast he can blow a raspberry... Excellent image, fantastic colours and detail.Love the Tempest, one of the prime causes for the demise of the Whirlwind, but ultimately a better aircraft for the job.

It's all to easy to forget the men and women behind the scenes during wartime. Saw a great program on tv the other night about the women and men of the ATA. Beautifully detailed image Bill!

Don't know much about planes, but your render is very good, very detailed, the mats are top. Excellent image.

Treee mendous, Neil's hanger certainly sets the scene...thought I was at Duxford

just superior, bud! I love looking at Google Map views of the line at Dyess AFB and the oily outlines of B1-Bs that are out on patrol.... they still drip and smoke, eh??!!

Oh yes, the good old Royal Air Force... Very fine picture.

What caught my eye is the two figures which look great Bill...some more of your tweaking textures on low poly figures?
