Description

More of the wonderful sculpture by Yvonne Domenge, temporarily installed in Chicago's Millennium Park. I thought it was time for something bright and shiny. :)

Bright and shiny it is! Are you sure it's not from some Caterpillar tractor equipment? LOL

It is indeed bright and shiny - just the ticket on a cold day.

You've catured a slice of her style and vision and made us want to see more. Nicely done:* Found on a wiki: Domenge's spheres defy gravity and space, conveying a rhythmic beauty and a sense of a larger universal order. The sculptor's fascination with organic shapes, form and geometry is evident in the four pieces.

Such an interesting montage, I am also mesmerised (at closer inspection!), the way it is held together by a just a few screws - NOT welded - maybe a bit here and there! Perhaps it easier to dismantle, when you have to transport it elsewhere? Nicely cropped Tara ... oh, and a prosperous NEW YEAR ~2012~ to you both ;) BB (Sig rang from Sydney yesterday and is on his way home now, probably there already by the time you read this?) PS crazy thought about the Mayans stony calendar - love it!

Oooooo - shiny! And yellow! And very cool, Tara! I like the way the negative spaces become progressivly larger from top left to bottom right - wonderful composition! Happy New Year to you and Bill!
