Trying out my new camera on my cat. Nothing fancy but I like the back lighting on his ears.

Sweet image and I agree about the backlighting and the blanket! I have a cat that will quietly burrow under the comforter for a snooze. She is small and makes a hardly noticeable little lump, I have to warn my boys (now grown) not to throw themselves on the bed lest they encounter a napping cat!

Don't discredit your abilities :-) I think it's a great shot. I like the dark contrast of where he was comfortable sleeping in the dark and just at peace till he noticed you entering to take his picture. You captured his presence of feeling loved and safe and secure and just enjoying the moment and even though he was awoken he knows he is still safe and secure.

I also love the backlighting on his ears and the way his face is shadowed. This is actually quite a nice photo. I see you have not uploaded anything in a long time. If you still have that camera and are taking photos I would love to see some more from you.
