They say it only happens in the movies and in storybooks. What do they know. You spend your life looking, hoping, banging around, reeling from misfortune. Until you feel like you're chasing after rainbows, searching for some mythic pot of gold. Trying to hold onto smoke, ready to throw in the towel, just give it up. Its not in the cards. There is nothing out there. No more illusions to hold on to. That's when it happens. Like a bolt from the blue on a clear Summer's day. One minute your feet are on the ground, the next your head is in the clouds and you're walking on air. Lost in a daze. Your senses stunned. Everything is bigger than life, and you feel like the hero in one of those great late night action-adventure-romance pictures, where everything has been going wrong, and then suddenly, like an accident just waiting to happen, true love is right there, smacking you on the lips, and nothing is the same. Its all different now, somehow, and you know this is it. This is what you've been looking for. There really are happy ever-afters, and dreams do come true.
