Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Like what you did with the light on their faces...is that coming through a window just off to their left? And the jaunty angle too:)

I'm not sure when people stopped smiling for pictures, but this age group doesn't appear to embrace the concept! LOL! I know they're a happy couple and were glad to have you in town for the holidays, but you'd never know it from their expressions. Ah well. It's a wonderful double portrait of them looking just how they would like to look in a portrait! :)

Stark, stunning lighting effects and contrast in this supreme portrait, Missy Maz!

Gorgeous and I love the "campfire effect" this shot has...well...they might very well be sitting near a campfire for all I know. It's that darkness and nicely rich light that makes me think of a mellow, night-time, at-rest-in-camp sort of scene. I love the warm colors and this is a great portrait! You do people shots so well!

They look good together; nice dark shot, I like this!
