Description
These shots were taken, by a stranger, of me doing something which could have killed me!!
I was just walking past this gentleman, who had his camera set up to catch spray coming off the Cobb Wall at Lyme Regis. I apologized for walking into his shot, and carried on, with the results here for you to see.
He shouted "GOT IT" and I shouted "SO DID I". I was absolutely drenched and had to go home, approx 13 miles in the car wet through, but my camera was ok!
I exchanged email addresses and by the time I got home the kind man had sent me the pics and with his permission I show them to you as a reminder that the sea is mightier than thou!!!

How good of this chap to send you these photos. This is a very good reminder for those of us fortunate enough to be able to take pictures along any shoreline. So, you threw in the towel after this and went home, huh?

And don't you ever forget it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad you and the camera survived. I was on the beach, wasn't even on the jetty, when a rouge wave came over the top some 5 meters in height. Got quite wet myself, but the real bugger was my digital camera did not survive the encounter. ;~(

I sort of had a same experience at Niagara Falls.the wind so happened to be blowing so hard, the spray from the falls was blowing several hundred feet away from the actual falls.I walked up to look at them but the camera stayed in my pocket he made some very candid captures

They keep telling us when at the beach to be aware of your surroundings. I knew a lady who got swept out to sea while she was walking on the beach here in California from a large wave action. A little girl saw her red hair floating on the surface of the water, and her mother alerted a swim guard who saved her just in time by pulling her out onto the beach and gave her AR. She didn't remember a thing afterward.
