I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Super landscape Carin. Reminds me of our trip to Canyonlands in America.

WOW! WOW! This is ONE MORE reason that is enticing me in that direction (Hmmm...how to get Corey and a particular Russian there too! Time to start scheming.) That is one amazing rock formation. I see the grumpy face Andrea noticed and I also notice how smooth that stone looks! Odd how it's just sitting there, like it's supposed to be there or something. Being from Illinois, this is really, seriously alien! And gorgeous. Here in Illinois, all we get is flat! I like Namibia a lot better! This is brilliant.

Oh yeah what a gorgeous place. Be careful of the big pussy cats with teeth!!!!!

Uber stellar clarity, lighting, and texture, contrasted against an unbelievably pristine sky, Dierbaar! And the rock formation looks like a hybrid of a frowning face and vacuum sweeper.

I love this landscape. How beautiful it is, grumpy faces notwithstanding! :P I know how relaxed you are when you get back, and am looking forward to hearing all about your trip! I know you won't be leaving for a few weeks, but I'm getting as excited as you! LOL!

If rocks could talk then I believe the old orcs face I see here would have some wise stories to tell of the passage of time he has seen.
