Description

....only if it looks like this :-) Well, we only have a couple of 5Ltr drums of Magnolia paint left in the paintshop so time to pack this up. I evisaged a problem getting the interiors scaled and positioned for people not using Poser. To get round this and make life a bit easier in general I've done this as 3 complete aircraft, civil, military and gunship, they're each under 2Mb so no great strain on the system. Once you've got you're plane there are the optional gear up /down...well you know the score by now. Just a couple of marking variants to add and I'll Poser pack this probably tomorrow, so looking good for my predicted mid-week roll out. Thanks for continued comments and support, always very much appreciated...

Bring on the stewardesses... once again though a very generous gift, and amazing models.

And will there be a Lufthansa one, and an Air China one, and an .... one and a ... one and ...etc one. After the war they became ubiquitous in all sorts of airlines, both civilian and military. So, you might as well pack it up for now and let all those different airlines do their own painting! :) So, I see the text "The Lindburgh Line" over the windows. I don't recall if TWA was associated with Lindburgh, but there was a plastic model kit line called The Lindburgh Line, but I don't recall them making plane kits. They had a cool kit of an infantry landing craft though (I don't recall the name of the type). Perhaps inspiration for another educational series - Lindburgh? This looks great. Now, perhaps off to some dragon hunting with the gunship version? Oops! Almost forgot - they are on the environmentalist's list of endagered wild life. Since there are so many environmentalists, at least THEY aren't an endagered species. Am I correct in assuming the gunship can be used against ground targets, too? (Evil laughter!) Keep up the good work! :-)

Our DC-3 in TWA colors in Kansas City has the tag line of, "Victory is in the Air - BUY BONDS" in place of the pre-war, "The Lindbergh Line". Fine modeling mate!

Thanks so much for this Neil. I remember seeing a TWA DC3 as a kid and it's always stuck in my mind for some reason. As T.Rex points out, with a template everyone can recreate their own favourite airline of yesteryear so well done on this one. Talking of stewardesses, saw the current Virgin Atlantic advert again last night and when they are doing the safety demo dance in slow-mo is that hot or what!

Airline liveries have come a long way. I'll certainly be doing an KNILM variant for my Broome series... Definitely. I simply cannot resist. Its an episode with everything you'd like, a Russian WW1 ace, a forced beach-landing, strafing Zeroes. A nervous "Mavis" crew worried about non-existent Allied fighters... Oh, and 300,000 Pounds worth of Dutch diamonds that apparently went "...walkabout." I just have to get my H6K4 finished... ;-)

This is my favorite model of the three. Thanks for all of them. The USAAF Dakotas will be great for a render I have in mind, as well. I wondered; did you model the buildings in the background? Just curious.
