Description

A bit of driftwood on the sandy part of the beach, wood and stone each slowly breaking down to their component parts. It's Nature's Way ...

The best sculptor is Mother Nature herself, from creating great landscapes like mountains, canyons and others to such small structures as years rings in a tree or rust at a human building... You have a great eye for such things and their hidden beauty. Wonderful catch! Congratulations for your gallery´s vote and my best wishes for 2012!

This is where my natural 'sculptures' in the garden came from, although from one of the Great Lakes and not the Pacific NorthWest coast. Thuja (Western Red Cedar) root boles can last a hundred years and more because insects find them inedible! So the piece in the front of your pic will still be around somewhere when the pole at the back is long recycled! There is something very cosy about the space between these, a little triangle of tranquility.

I like the shades of brown, rust and grays and how they go together to make this a very pleasing photo.

What a wonderful find, Tara! Great shot, and what wonderful textures - it almost looks like the sand washing over that wood has given it a bit of polish. Excellent!
