Description

Nunney Castle between Frome and Shepton Mallet in Somerset, Built by John de la Mare in 1373 this is the tower which was the architectural centrepiece of the castle and was surrounded by a mote and medieval drawbridge, all this was surrounded by a walled outer court. It looks pretty good from the outside but it is gutted on the inside, but you can still see the holes in the wall were the timber joists went for the two upper floors. Zoom is good and get an idea of size from the person sitting in the wall.

The person sitting on the wall sure brings the castle into perspective. Wonderful capture and condition after 636 years. I like this POV!
