Description

Here you see an ancient packhorse bridge which would have been used by the locals to avoid the ford which would often be in flood. It would have been used by horses, cattle and sheep as well. This is situated in the small village of Allerford in Somerset, UK.

When I was a young parent, my wife and I often joked about being packhorses...now I see the Allerfordians had a bridge built in our honor. So picturesque!
