Description

This hallway is known as the Grande Gallerie & is located in the Chateau de Chenonceau, which is one of the most beautiful & unique of the chateaus of the Loire. What's unusual about the Grande Gallerie is that it spans the Cher River - the chateau is built across the river, joining the two banks. It is 60 meters long & you can look out the windows along it's length & see the river below you. The chateau dates from the 1500's...

Fabulous! What a wonderful, classic view! Thanks for the additional information. This place is outstanding simply for its architecture, but then it gets extra credit points for the floor, the river location, and its great age. Your photograph gets extra points for composition and light. Love it!
