Description

They are not sworn enemies, they may even know each other, but as they enter the gladiatorial arena they become mortal combatants, it is a fight to the death. As they lock glances, each knows that if he is to walk out of the arena alive, the other surely must die! The Roman gladiatorial arean was a brutal, bloody place, but as I don't particularly enjoy depicting gore, I chose the initial moment of combat, just before the first blow is struck, when the gladiators (the Barbarian versus the Greek) see the look of mortal desperation in each others' eyes. This is my 100th image! It took me nearly three years, but I have enjoyed producing every one, and wish I had more time!. Even with the frustrations of DAZ crashing and not always doing what I wanted, the process of bringing my imagination to life in 3D has been a lot of fun. This is also my last image with DAZ 3, as I have now upgraded to DAZ 4 Advanced and am trying to learn the new interface. I will let you know how it goes on my next post...my first DAZ 4 effort. Thanks for looking and for your comments! You are the greatest! I tried to pay a lot of attention to detail in this one, so please take a moment to ZOOM and enjoy them! Previously: "Full of Grace":

Very impressive poses - they translate the stress of the fight. And superb skin textures. Magnificent!

So compelling because the outcome is guaranteed, just a matter of which human will die. Great render.

Spartan against barbarian? A really cool scene! Great character and poses. That reminds me, that I still have a gladiator scene somewhere on my hard drive. Hmm, strange that DS3 chrased with you so often. I also once tried to DS4, but that was not really my thing. I wish you much success with the new program. Oh, congratulations on the 100th!

Personally I think there is more actual drama in the moment you have chosen than at any of the blood soaked moments of gore during the fight that is about to ensue. This image places us at the edge of the beginning, that moment when one hopes something may intervene before the total committment must be followed through. Excellent choice of moment, and Excellent depiction of that chosen moment. Exceptionally Well Done!

Wow! A M3 (or M2?) fighting against a M4 (Caleb?). I like the background too.
