Description

Closer look and different view with the female elf character in my previous render. Too elaborately made to be hidden in the background :) The same goes for some of the other background figures in full scene view, so my intention is to make some more renders from it, with some changes etc. Previous one: "Arriving at the Elven Village"

The foliage looks fantastic! The characters are a bit too ambient IMO.

It's nice to see the detail on these figures. I especially like the blanket on the horse. The designs on it are lovely. I really like the material on the mane, even though the man is too stiff. There just isn't an easy solution for good hair in CG, as far as I can tell. I like the woman's pose, and her hair style, though her hair seems oddly matte compared to the horse's mane. The bow is a nice touch, and her outfit seems very practical and fits her role. Her heavy makeup clashes with everything else (the scene, her clothes, her role, etc.) to me, but that's probably just because I'm used to it as an indicator of bad sci fi or fantasy movie. I also suspect most guys see heavy makeup differently. The only thing I really wish you could change you can't do much, if anything, about. The Millennium Horse just doesn't quite look like a horse, which is hidden at a distance but obvious up close. I still remember an illustrator telling DAZ that their client turned down work because of it in a thread pleading with them to improve the horse. Here you've posed it well, the materials seem good, as do the textures, and you've generally done a good job with what you could control. But there's only so much you can do, unfortunately.
