On Aviation and Photography:
"You haven't seen a tree until you've seen its shadow from the sky." -- Amelia Earhart
“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Bill is it you with the orange jacket, camera in hand and Tara standing along side you ? Stunning capture. I like this a lot especially the city building being included in this capture reflecting on the mirror. God Bless.

I think you are wearing a red jacket and at 1.50mts. behind and to the right of the lady who is taking the photo to the man wo is in front of the bean. Impossible see your hair. I'm deducting based on distortion of the image and the position required to take the picture. Excellent shot and great riddle.
whaleman
Are you the one back there with the gold wristwatch, the one that reads 12:18 PM?
jayfar
I think that Tara is in red and you are on her left there in the background!!
durleybeachbum
I think the same as Jeff. What an interesting pic!

I agree with the last 2 :o) That is an amazing thing!!! Isn't it funny that you carn't see any reflection of the man & lady in white jackets :o)

The spherical aberration makes this a bit of a challenge. Starting from the couple in the foreground, you are obviously behind and to the right of them. In the reflection, the man is near the center and holding a sheet of paper behind his back. You are located to the right of his head, wearing medium blue jeans and a dark blue jacket. To the left behind you is a vertical grey column. To your right is a dark clad individual (Tara?). The distortion of distance is fantastic in this - it should have a warning "Objects seen in this are closer than you think!" This was most interesting and a fun challenge. Thanks for posting it! Keep up the good work! :-)

Very trippy. I would not begin to be able make out anyone other than the people on either side. What a fascinating thing though.
BIPOLARTWO
Interesting- one of 2 but would say left hand side near pole/light's with white shirt

Maxidyne
You seem to be on the left of the sign post behind the person walking. Sorry mate was a bit distracted by the stunning blonde with the lovely smile on the right side of the picture :)
thecytron
Very interesting shot!

Marvelous image Bill. I love that the clouds in the bean and the cloudscape almost blends together. I think you are to the right of the person in red.

Cool shot. I can't find you (same problem as bazza ;))

The Bean, What a cool sculpture and you've captured it really well Bill. :)

Your rear view mirror might be a little tough to attach to your car, I think!
helanker
HA! It is hard to say and amazing that it is possible to take such a shot without being seen. Almost. I think I see you in a blue jacket and black trousers way out in the background. Fantastic :)
jocko500

bobrgallegos
Outstanding capture Bill!!! Almost dead center of this image.

I know exactly where you are! LOL! Those people with balloons drove Corey and I absolutely nuts. They were all milling around, and we couldn't figure out what the numbers were supposed to signify. At one point I thought maybe it was 30911 ... perhaps they were from Georgia, and it was their ZIP code. (See how far we were stretching for an answer?) When they lined up for this picture, we slapped our heads. Duh! LOL! It was September 30, 2011.

Wow...that's so cool... Well spotted Bill!!!

Wow, shades of the TV series, Fringe, in this eerie capture, Bill. The Cloud Gate looks like an interdimesional portal to another universe. Super clarity and effects in this one. As for IDing you in this pic, I've studied it and won't even try.

Cool image I am thinking the same thing as whaleman Hugs Susan~
