Description

There is a tradition on Aruba, so it is said, that you need to pile rock up if you visit the Northeast side of the island. Here you can see the rocks piled on top of each other and also a piece of driftwood used in one of the piles. The North side is very rocky and the water is rough. If you fell on rocks, more then likely, you would cut yourself. Still, a great place to see.

Love all the individual sculpture, it makes me wonder about the folk who did them.

What an unusual custom! It makes for a fascinating photograph, though. Did you do any rock stacking? :)

It is unusual subject matter like this that makes a photo very memorable (for me). You could show me travel snaps of Aruba all day and this is probably the one I would remember.

Cool shot, I wonder if that's where the idea came from. Now you can find people doing that in Europe and across the U.S. (especially in California) and into Canada. I like the stack with the driftwood!
