Hi! My name is Ed and I am just getting back in to photography. I have been taking pictures since the late 60's but kind of stopped for almost 30 years. I took mostly point and shoot pictures for years and decided to get back into a little more hands on photography.
I just got a Nikon D5100 with a 18-55mm lens and a 70-300mm Telephoto lens. I plan on getting some filter for both and doing a little experimentation with them.
I am interested in all types of photography, but lean towards landscape and trick photography. Â I also would like to try HDR in the future.Â
I would appreciate any feed back that I can get as this will help me fine tune my skills.
Unless stated, all photos are straight from the camera with no Photoshop manipulation.

No problems with high tide. Maine is another photographer's dream. Did you eat lobster? This is an imposing old home nicely photographed. Carpenters do well in Maine:)

Lucky homeowners! Probably a vacation home for some penthouse dwellers! ;) Beautiful capture~ You and your wife are lucky people also to have had a great whale-watching experience in such a neat place to visit!

I would be very happy with their 'guest house' to the left, LOL! Seeing a whale can be magical. I have encountered them many times in one location close to shore on the west side of Vancouver Island. They were grey whales, and I think my kids will never forget their first time as it was in that same place.
