Description

I love the two women on the right, peering as if it will help them figure out what they're seeing! They're all looking at The Bean in Chicago, through some trees and at a bit of a distance. (Although the thing is huge, and hard to miss!) That's Yvonne and Chip on the left, btw.

This is such a good study of humans in 'look' mode. They could not be better arranged if you had posed them yourself, and the selective colouring is a treat!

This is FUN! The expressions on the different peoples faces... my. I guessed they were trying to figure out something on the Bean from the looks of it all. Another fun thing is the people in focus are all in color while everything else is black/white, which adds interest and creates focus, making this photo more attention grabbing. I assume you used some form of editing software since this would require an enormous amount of time and effort to cut out the color part and paste it on the b/w background. Keep up the good work! :-) (PS - looks like the "bugs" on the map have found their destination!)

I agree with Bill, they do look a bit stunned. This one snuck up on me. I concentrated on the color and missed the b&w for a moment. Brilliant postwork and color choice.

Ah...Chicago...that tottering town (it's too old to toddle, and too tall for that too...and since it's snowy and gloppy, it's definitley not steady on its feet.) What a shot! I love the human interest in this and the way the two young ladies on the right actually look like they could be Czech...it's obvious that Lenka is the one in the sunglasses, and Martina is slightly obscured by her. That's always how it works over there...if your name's Lenka, you upstage everyone, at all times. I know a girl named Lenka...she lives on center stage! Okay, enough rambling. Onto this shot. It's a stunner and a doozie and I love the glimpse of Chicago that isn't often photographed. Everyone is always so focused on Da Bean that they completely ignore the Chicago Cultural Center and the el tracks farther west! That grabbed my attention the most as my eye wandered, and of course, there's me and Yvonne plotting a shot. Well, I think Yvonne was plotting a shot: you can see it on her face, she's reviewing camera angles and composing. I was probably looking for a seagull or a pigeon, just to see if it would attempt to...um...decorate the Bean in that way that only a seagull or pigeon is capable. Brilliant shot! I love this!

I love how you have the main figures in color, and the rest in B&W - very cool, Tara! I'm gonna have to make a trip to Chicago sometime!

Hey, I know those people! : ) Funny to see me in a photo, spending as much time as I do on the other side of the camera. I hadn't realized Chip was that tall either (or is that me being so short...) It sure was a fun day, excellent company and snapping away to our hearts content, who could ask for more?
