Description

Jasmine thought as she passed the pic. "Is that a hare I see in there?" I don't do any gundog work with the girls but I do like to see them using their nose. Jasmine did seek a fox out of its lair yesterday on the walk & luckily for me she got distracted by a fella walking a Huskey & a Springer. It is always heart stopping as the nose takes over & the ears hear NOTHING. I suppose if I had taken her to gundog training she would STOP immediately the stop whistle was blow. Unfortunately I have seen some gundog trainers (the majority are kind) & I didn't like what I saw, especially electric collars, a BIG NO NO with me but there are people who use them. Just not for me. Anyway I digress, I have heard if a Munster comes across a hare when out for pleasure or working, all training goes out the window & they are OFF. Good job this one is only in a picture :o) Hare - Leilana The background is a pic my son Aaran took. Frame - janeeden Thanks for all the lovely comments & favs, so, so appreciated. xxx

Beautiful and so clever the way you put these together! I am beginning to wonder if Buster is ACTUALLY going deaf..he gets worse at recall as the weeks go by!

Wow Barbara. This is gorgeous. You did an excellent job on this. yes thier instincts do tend to take over at times. I dont believe in shock collars either. There was a lady in our town about a year ago that had a small dog that tended to bark alot. That is the nature of the breed. She wanted our local vet to do an operation to remove it's vocal cords. Our vet refused to do such a mutilating surgery. She took the dog down to the city and found a vet that will do such a thing. If I had my way that woman would have been charged with cruelty to animals.

Wonderful capture of her in action Barbara, and I am glad you didn't put her through the training as I agree with your thoughts on it.

Excellent work! I don't believe in shock collars either I am glad that Jasmine got distracted, as tangling with a fox can become unpleasant

My uncle trained beagles for hunting and was never mean to any and I had a friend who trained coon hounds and he was never mean, though I guess some trainers are, don't believe in negative training myself. Awesome scene, outstanding work!!!!!!!!!!!!!
