Description

Christina is over 90 but has all her marbles in spite of a stroke 11 months ago. Her major disappointment is that she can't swallow so is on a drip-feed and can't have a cuppa! I cannot imaginge how horrid this must be. We had a laugh on my last visit, as she has put on weight with not gardening and they have had to cut the drip down. You wouldn't expect that, would you? ***** My road will be without power from 9am to 4pm tomorrow..I am going out to lunch!

Often after a stroke many people are not allowed to or can eat because of the high risk of pneumonia caused by food going down the windpipe simply because the patient no longer can swallow properly. She look's great for her age...

A mutually beneficial interaction. Christina gets to enjoy Buster, and Buster gets to be spoiled rotten. ALWAYS a good thing! :)

Buster on the job again! Sorry she can't have a cup, that is sad. You might suggest she go through the motions with an empty cup while you have one with her. A lot of the experience is just habit, and I once discovered that I enjoyed a cup of coffee which I made without putting in any instant coffee. It seemed as good as with coffee. Just a suggestion, as the mind is very powerful and hers is obviously in great condition!

I imagine her time with Buster brings her a lot of comfort. That is a blessing in itself. Nothing like a power outage to drive one from the house. I hope the lunch was tasty.

SUch a lovely shot, Andrea. Maybe it is a good idea what Whaleman suggested. I hope you got your power back in the time they promised and that you had a cosy lunch. :)
