Description

Back to our Christmas visit with our son Drew, his wife Keely and our granddaughter Maya. They have orchids hanging in their pool area. This is a Vanda Orchid and it is a genus, in the orchid family (Orchidaceae), which, although not large (about fifty species), is one of the five most horticulturally important orchid genera, because it has some of the most magnificent flowers to be found in the entire orchid family. The roots hang down about four feet and have to be sprayed every other day. Info from Wikipedia. This plant hangs near my December 30th posting. Zoom has much better details.
