Description

I don't know where he came from probably from a drawing and painting workshop. But I do know where he goes He goes to a garbage dump. And here he is, giving a last look at the place where he helped so many students to understand concepts of art. None of them are here to thank him or to say goodbye.None of them... There is only an old man with a camera and a tear on his cheek sharing his loneliness...and waiting his turn.

As one who was thrown on the trash heap after thirty years of valuable service, your words carry a lot of meaning for me. In today's world we are all waiting to be thrown away. It is my camera that saved me.

Me too! My camera carried me away from a 37-year career, and into new and different worlds. Though I taught electronics, it was the advent of the digital camera that changed my world for the second time. The first was the advent of the Macintosh that made the world of publishing possible for me. We have all lived in interesting times! Even the fact that we have been blessed, in our lifetime, with three great tenors is unusual, though one of them has since died.

Strange how people can be and are effected by peoples disregard of object's that were probably once held in great esteem. Surplus to requirements-Throw it in the bin. dbb would love this...

I love the description that you did for the picture. Understanding, you're the man with the tear and the camera. Not at all old. But so young at heart, so inspiring thought. Thank you for sharing this (somewhat symbolic) picture, dear friend Neto. I also love the look in the eyes of the image, as well as the attitude of the head. I think this is so because of the well chosen POV.

It appears to be a sad state of affairs - nothing lasts forever! but it will be space-dust one day and floating somewhere in the Universe, I like to believe that and that is a sobering thought - reaching infinity ... BB
