My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Amazing capture. I love how the three figures all have the same posture, looking down...

Chicago sure is dazzling! Love the twins on the left of the photograph. The one on the right seems to be the victim of the Einstein paradox: space travel got his jacket unbuttoned.

beautiful capture and architecture, have a lovely week

Beautiful capture of the wall in Millennium Park. I like the angle you took the picture from, it changes the whole view of Chicago.

cool city view ...like the different shapes too !!

The building to the right of the black one looks odd - almost as if it were computer generated, as does the one with the blue and white facade and gables, as though they were on Mount Olympus somehow. The "silver" wall looks like the plating on the bottom of the hull of an old time ship with overlapping plates and rivetted hull. The tall building is slightly convex while its lower neighbor is concave. This photo really captures a panoply of architectural styles and appeals to the imagination. Excellent job! Keep up the good work! :-)

Excellent capture and interesting information. Beautiful lighting and composition. I like the figures too, (especially the twins), and the single black building against all that silver. Have you read the nonfiction book "The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America" by Eric Lawson? It's about two men; Daniel H. Burnham, the architect who oversaw the fair's construction, and H.H. Holmes, a serial killer who was active during the same period and built a gruesome hotel near the fairgrounds for his purposes. It has a lot about Chicago at the time of the fair. I found it an interesting read.

An interesting looking skyline and you have caught them looking very silvery in this light. Those figures add a nice contrast too. Excellent capture.

this is wonderful

What do you get, when you mix BLACK with WHITE ? = GREY, like the colour of ash - close enough to SILVER ;) one could say Chicago is rising from the ashes ... nice thought? to be known now as 'The Silver City' and home of the Silver Surfer, in my fantasy anyway ;) great perspective Tara, BB

What a beautiful view; I see all the silver shimmer, and I love that mix bag of sky behind it all. WOnderful lines and movement!

Three men with yellow bags:) Brilliant composition and a perfect title. Well done...have I ever said that before. lol.

Wood and brick give way to glass and steel. Progress? I suppose. This is a super image. The "self absorbed" people seem to fit right in. I find the architecture both attractive and impersonal

Quite a fascinating story! Thx for sharing this, I found it truly interesting :)
