A rose will bloom It then will fade So does the youth So does the fairest maid ~ from the movie Romeo and Juliet by Franco Zefarelli A beautiful young rose. The color is spectacular. Wonderful capture. But now you've got me thinking about Maureen Murphy, an Australian comedian who was popular in the 1980s. She once described the rose as the perfect symbol of romance. Young, beautiful and fragrant. Then after a few days the petals fall off and all you've got left is a long prickly thing.
