Description


Perloo is just the southern way of saying "Pilaf", or rice that has been cooked in a seasoned broth, instead of plain ole water. In the Carolinas rice often means pilau (pronounced perloo), a combination of meat, vegetables, or seafood and rice that can serve as an accompaniment to other dishes or stand alone as a staple. In this dish, the seasoned broth, for the rice is Clam Juice. INGREDIENT Bacon Onion Tomatoes (peeled, seeded, dice) Red Pepper flakes Long Grain Rice Clam Juice Shrimp (16-20, peeled & deveined) Parsley (chopped) Lemon Juice Salt & Black Pepper
