Description

That's kind of a strange title, I suppose, but I started out thinking about either an absence or defiance of, and realized that this wouldn't really be possible if it wasn't for gravity, which made me re-evaluate what's happening with these. I suddenly realized that it's like a romance, each is positioning, talking with each other (in a way) and getting a feel for how gravity is pulling the rock and where it wants to go. The thought seemed a bit melodramatic, but it's rock-stacking after all, shouldn't it be about drama and romance? At any rate, the largest rock is just about as big as my head, so the POV makes these look much larger than they really are. There's no glue or such, and I didn't use Photoshop to "fake it" although I did use photoshop to adjust the image. Night shots like this tend to wash out the color, so some adjusting was in order to get them closer to how they actually look. Enjoy what's left of the weekend!

Excellent capture. I marvel at the patience and ability some people have to find the balancing points on these type of rock works!!

That irregularly shaped top rock looks like it must have been quite a challenge - looks gravity-defying to me...

I'm always amazed at how you pull off these different combinations of stacked rocks.

Nicely done. Which took longer, setting it up or photographing it?
