Description

I would like to dedicate this mage to Utes family, her father having been an uboatman.little story here: Utes father got away lucky,on the transport via the Luftwaffe to Africa he was shot down by the french and got of course cashed in as POW. Alas the french had not enough to eat for themselves at this time so Utes father and a friend broke out of the POW camp and headed with some friendly Beduins to the coast. By that time the allied forces had landed already with Operation Torch (november 1942) and he got again POW. They shipped him and his friend over the ocean to South or North-Carolina I don't remember where, anyway they got fed well, people where nice to them no abuses, they worked in the cottonfields and nobody peed on them hehehehe. And he came back home early in 1945.Utes godfather to be was not so lucky he got MIA in Eastern Prussia.Utes late son was able to follow his traces to a ship wich was sunk in the "Ostsee" bombed by the sowjets. I wanted to add a funny touch in this work although war is not funny. Ich wollte einfach die spitze (krieg) abbrechen hier, krieg ist Sch......! Alois Schickenfeld (lol)is waiting for the inaguration of his secret U-Boats codename Mausel. He needs this weapons badly ,because the Spackovian fleet gave him some crap to eat in recent battles. As well he has to fight pirates on the Horn of Spackodokkia, disturbing his supply lines. His secretary Louise Stonkeveld is already calling whoever she can reach to get the delivery schedule straightened out. Maybe Schickenfeld has the wrong day and the party is only tomorrow,I mean he forgot his pants already why not the exact date lol.??. Thanks to Mausel for gifting me the wonderful uboat-he has also fine freebies here on rendero have a look. Great looking scene here, Rene! Love examining all the elements! Very well put together! I liked reading your descriptive as well. It is great to hear histories. From where I come from, there were many German POW's located at an old army fort in Bismarck, ND called Fort Lincoln. The fort was built in the 1800's and is still in use. It has served many functions over the course of it's existance. In a final irony, I believe it is now an indian community facility.

Got a history lesson here as I had never heard of a sowjet and I thought I had heard of all the WWII jets. Boy was I surprised the it was the German to for the Russians. My Mother and Grandmother spent the war in a Japanese Prison camp in the Philippines. They were there until the Americans liberated them and sent them to the USA, which is good cause I got to be born.

Another great render, Rene, and that's a fascinating story! It really is wonderful to be able to have your family's history to hold onto. Yeah, war isn't funny - I agree. It's a dirty, messy business.. Just wish all the so called 'leaders' - both political and religeous could figure that out.
